It was an honour to be a part of the historical South Asian Music Forum kirtan darbar at the Central Gurdwara, London, in May 2019, in which we opened the evening for the great Ustad Shafqat Ali Khan, Ustad Latafat Ali Khan, and Ustad Shahbaz Hussain. This event was all about honouring the inclusive and embracing nature of the shabad kirtan tradition, highlighting how Muslims played an equally important role alongisde Sikhs and Hindus. One of our constant aims is to (re)connect people, across boundaries of religion, through the power of music.
